Orlando Science Schools competition math teams participated in the 12th annual FGCU math competition on Monday, December 15th, 2014 at Florida Gulf Coast University's main campus. Once again, OSS mathletes did an amazing job and brought many trophies home. Both the Algebra 2 and Geometry teams received 1st place. While the Algebra 1 team ranked 4th among more than 45 schools from all around the state.
Additionally, Alexandria Bias and Sanjana Konda received 1st place in Algebra 2 and Geometry respectively and earned a one year scholarship of $2500 to FGCU.

The FGCU Invitational Mathematics Competition is offered by the Department of Chemistry and Mathematics to encourage students to develop their interests and abilities in mathematics. The competition is administered on the main campus of Florida Gulf Coast University located in Fort Myers, Florida. Participation is open to all middle school, junior high school and senior high school students and is divided into six divisions: Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Statistics, Pre-Calculus and Calculus.
