OSS Mathletes continues their successOSS is proud to announce the results of the AMC - 8 Nation Wide Mathematics Test. Our students achieved fantastic results. Alexandria Bias was our overall school winner with a score of 23 finishing in the top 1% nationwide.

Wally Vargas and Thomas Shea placed 2nd, Annabel Zinn, 4th, all finishing in the top 5% nationwide. Also, 6th graders Esha Ranade and Sanjana Konda received an achievement roll award with their high scores.
OSS was also recognized as an Honor Roll school in Florida with our team receiving 67 points and placing in the top 8 schools in the State in Florida. Congratulations to you all, and to all the mathletes that took the test!
About the AMC 8
The AMC 8 is a 25 question, 40 minute multiple choice examination for middle school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem solving skills. A special purpose of the AMC 8 is to demonstrate the broad range of topics available for junior high school mathematics curriculum. Additional functions of the AMC 8 are to promote excitement, enthusiasm and positive attitudes towards mathematics and to stimulate interest in continuing the study of mathematics beyond the minimum required for high school graduation.
